The beginning of Fall was a great time to hunt around Central Virginia.  Our members found a variety of bullets, buttons, coins, buckles, and also a canteen.

 Our members hunted in the unseasonably warm Fall season here in Central Virginia.  Everyone was successful and found a variety of buttons, bullets, coins, and parts from items used in the Civil War.  They also found canon balls and intact bayonettes. 

The large metal object is 1/2 of a wagon wheel bearing. It is lead coated bronze and was made this way so that the lead could be replaced when it became worn.
