We schedule as many private club hunts as possible each year. During these events, eligible active members participate in multi-day hunts on private land the club leases.
Below are some of our past group hunts:
The club went on a one-day hunt on 150 acres of land that was about to be developed on Malvern Hill in Henrico County, VA. Our members were able to find and preserve many artillery shells, buttons, bullets, and coins that would have otherwise been lost to development.
In 2011, the club leased 2000 acres of land on a cattle farm that was directly on General Lee's retreat route. During this three-day hunt our members camped on the same grounds that both Confederates and Yankees camped on long ago. This hunt yielded many treasures such as artillery shells, bullets, coins and Confederate buttons.
The club is currently working to secure a site within sight of the Hatcher's Run National Battlefield.
Have you ever wanted to hunt, but you didn't want to go alone? Or, are you new to the sport and want to learn from a pro?
We have a partner program where members are randomly paired to hunt together. This gives everyone a great chance to hunt in new places, learn techniques from each other, and spend time with like-minded enthusiast.
Hanover Metal Detectors Club periodically has “seeded” hunts for our members and their families. These events also include an all-you-can-eat cookout.
We give great prizes that are well worth the typical cost of the hunt.
Children under 16 hunt free – if in the company of and under the supervision of a club member.
